These cookies are Boss

Hello Again!
Ever since I started working at my current job, I've never been able to connect with my boss. The first few months I was hired I didn't see much of him, so the possibility of getting to know him right away was pretty much not there. I've hear he's a fun, approachable guy, but I've only gotten a few glimpses of that. And when I do have to talk to him, it's usually about something unpleasant, like asking to be rescheduled. So I've mostly seen the stressed out side of him. Last week, he was especially stressed out, with the new summer schedule having to be adjusted and such. And in turn, I was stressed out, because I had an issue with the scheduling, and I didn't want to stress him out by coming to him with my problems. plus, he scares me for an unknown reason, so that didn't help matters. So over the weekend I decided enough was enough. I decided that if I was gonna get over my irrational fear of him and also help bring down his stress levels, I was gonna have to make him cookies. So that's what I did.

These babies are Lemon Sugar Cookies with Lemon Cream Cheese frosting. Basically a cheesecake with a different crust. I found them on pinterest the other day. (who's addicted? this girl.) This was my first try making them, I thought they turned out pretty fun. Drop sugar cookies have always been my favorite, and lemon is my favorite, and together they pretty much make a happiness explosion. I was pretty skeptical about the cream cheese frosting, but it actually complimented very well. You had the nice crunchy outside of a sugar cookie, and then the creamy frosting, and then the soft middle of the sugar cookie, and it was just lovely. And reeeeally rich. These would be a lovely cookie for a picnic in da park, or a small gathering with friends. I'm not sure I'd make them in bulk, cause the frosting is sticky and they don't travel very well, but they were refreshing and lovely, and light enough that they don't make you feel like you just ate a pound of butter. Fun stuff.

I presented these lovely cookies to my boss last night, in hopes that they'd make his day, and i'd get a smile, or some sort of cue that his stress level had gone down because of the cookies. I got a smirk, probably cause he thought I was sucking up. which was not my intention. But oh well. I feel a little bit better about him now, knowing that he must be human because he likes cookies.

In Pursuit of His love

Hi there. My name is Cc.
Last summer, I set a goal for myself. I suppose it's a goal that was probably in place for me even before I was conceived, but last summer I heard the call really clearly, and I made it my own. I decided I would be a carrier of Gods love, and that I wanted to be a tool to spread His love around. Kind of like a really quality spatula that can spread frosting perfectly on cake.
I've been told that everything you do should reflect Him in some way. First Corinthians 10:31 (a verse we all probably know by heart whether we mean to or not) says "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." So, I've decided that I'm gonna start a series of projects that will be in pursuit of giving a piece of Gods love to the world in my own way, and I will record them in several different blogs. This Blog you've stumbled upon here is my baking log. One of my favorite ways to show people I love them is through food, so I felt like that was a pretty good place to start. I'll post the recipes I use and then do what any normal food blog does and talk about them in great detail, and then I'll post some reflections if I have any, and we'll go from there!
So here we are. I thought I'd just post a little intro to start things off. I hope you will join me in this adventure! It would be super awesome if you'd bake along with me and tell me what you think, cause that would make me happy.

I will see you next post!

If God had a favorite cookie, what do you think it would be?
